Vikki Eggleton – Director of SEND and Inclusion
My career journey with Venn Academy Trust has been one of support, growth, and continuous inspiration. Starting as a Newly Qualified Teacher at Thorpepark Academy, I was fortunate to have the guidance of an experienced phase leader who mentored me through those early years. The encouragement and coaching I received during this time shaped my teaching practice and laid the foundation for my future success.
As I grew into the role of subject leader, I benefited from coaching and the support of knowledgeable colleagues who helped me develop my skills in creating impactful action plans and effectively monitoring progress. The transition into the role of Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) was both challenging and rewarding. I felt empowered and supported, knowing that my ideas and potential were always valued. Collaborating with other SENDCos across the trust broadened my perspective and inspired me to continually enhance my practice.
Progressing to Assistant Head allowed me to work alongside a remarkable leader who led by example, giving me invaluable opportunities to develop my leadership identity and apply new skills in meaningful ways. Today, as Director of SEND and Inclusion, I continue to thrive thanks to Venn’s commitment to professional development through coaching, collaboration and initiatives such as the Aspirant Leadership Programme. My time as Acting Principal offered further insights into leadership, deepening my passion for creating inclusive educational environments where all children can succeed.
Every step of this journey has been driven by belief, encouragement, and collaboration. Venn has nurtured my potential, helping me grow into a leader dedicated to making a positive impact on pupils, staff, and the wider school community.
