Our Services

At Venn Academy Trust, we acknowledge the complexities that exist in supporting all pupils to reach their full potential. That is why we have meticulously developed a wide range of professional development courses to enhance leadership and classroom practitioners.

Supporting Staff Development

At Venn Academy Trust, our dedication encompasses not just the empowerment of students but also the comprehensive support for staff development. This commitment is fortified through strategic partnerships with premier educational institutions and trusts across the region. We actively collaborate with these entities to spearhead initiatives such as the Aspirant Leader Program and the Artisan Teacher Program, both of which are designed to cultivate leadership skills and pedagogical expertise within our team.

Moreover, our Venn Headship Program is tailored specifically for early-career leaders, equipping them with the necessary tools and conditions to foster enhanced educational outcomes. This program is a testament to our proactive approach in leadership development within the educational sector.

We also pride ourselves on offering an extensive range of in-house Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities. These cover a broad spectrum of essential areas, from safeguarding and lunchtime supervision to finance, estates management, information technology, and leadership development. Our comprehensive CPD programs ensure that all staff members, regardless of their role, receive the training and support needed to excel in their positions and contribute effectively to our community’s educational goals.

CPD

We are committed to providing an expansive range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities that are designed to enhance both personal and professional growth within our educational community. Our CPD offerings are meticulously structured to address various aspects of educational needs:

  • Behaviour and Culture Reviews – help in assessing and enhancing the school climate and ethos.
  • Team Teach Training – equips staff with strategies for positive behaviour management.
  • Self-Regulation CPD – focuses on developing skills to manage one’s own behaviour and emotions effectively.
  • Development of Culture and Vision Creation – assists in shaping a positive and forward-thinking school culture.
  • Safeguarding Audits and Compliance – ensure our practices meet statutory requirements and safeguard our pupils effectively.

In addition to these, we provide specialised training tailored to address Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside our Steps to Success and Leading for Learning programs. These are complemented by critical sessions on Safer Recruitment, Safeguarding, and Risk Management. We also extend our proactive measures to include PREVENT Train the Trainer, Safeguarding Train the Trainer, Effective Record Keeping, and comprehensive Safeguarding Reviews.

Furthermore, we tackle sensitive and critical issues through dedicated training in SEND Reviews, Human Trafficking, FGM (Female Genital Mutilation), Honour-based Violence, Domestic Abuse, and courses focusing on Physical, Emotional, and Sexual Neglect. Our curriculum also covers Contextual Safeguarding, Intra-familial and Extra-familial Harm, Child Sexual Exploitation, Child Criminal Exploitation, Eating Disorder Awareness, and LGBTQ+ Questioning to cultivate a well-rounded educational environment that prioritises safety, inclusivity, and respect for all.

If you are interested in participating in any of these enriching training sessions or wish to host them within your institution, please contact Helen Turner at 01482 505030 or via email at hturner@vennacademy.org.
