Josh Dudding – Principal, Brompton Hall School

My journey with Venn Academy Trust has been nothing short of transformative, marked by invaluable mentorship, inspiring experiences, and continuous growth. My first introduction to Venn was during my teacher training when I attended a diversity day at Bridgeview Whitehouse (BVWH). Right away, I was struck by the welcoming and supportive culture of the staff. When a position opened up, I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up—and it was the best decision I could have made.

Starting as a Newly Qualified Teacher, I received exceptional mentoring and had the chance to observe and learn from experienced and highly skilled educators within a PRU and special school environment. Over time, changes in leadership didn’t disrupt the unwavering support and coaching that BVWH is known for. This encouragement extended beyond the school to the wider Venn community, providing the foundation for my rapid professional progression.

After just three years of teaching within Venn, I was offered the role of Assistant Headteacher (AHT). In just one year, I established myself as an effective leader and was then asked to lend my expertise to Brompton Hall School. Within half a term, I had the privilege of stepping into the role of Acting Principal and now Principal.

None of this growth would have been possible without the continuous support, guidance, and belief I have experienced throughout my journey. As I take on the challenges and rewards of headship, I know that Venn’s collaborative and supportive environment will continue to be my guiding force, allowing me to inspire and lead others with confidence.
