Connor Bibby – Finance Business Partner

My journey with Venn Academy Trust began in September 2017, fresh out of sixth form and eager to embark on a career in finance. I joined as a finance apprentice and immediately started working towards my AAT accountancy qualification. At the time, Venn was a growing trust with seven schools, and it quickly became clear that I was part of something special.

In 2019, I progressed to the role of Trust Accountant and began studying for my CIMA qualification in management accounting. This training gave me the skills and confidence to step into the role of Finance Business Partner in 2023. In this role, I work closely with Principals, Office Leads, and Business Managers across the Hull schools to monitor management accounts, analyse budgets, and assess variances between budgets and actual spending.

During my time with Venn, I’ve witnessed the trust grow and evolve, doubling in size from seven to 14 schools. It’s been an incredible experience to be part of such dynamic growth, and I’m continually inspired by the supportive and collaborative environment at Venn.

I am thoroughly enjoying my role and the opportunities it brings, and I look forward to continuing this journey—supporting the trust’s financial success and contributing to its bright future.
