Pupil Champion - Teaching Assistant supporting pupils on Pupil Premium and LAC
Level 3 / Grade 6

Term Time only, 32.5 hours per week, Permanent
£21,962 - £23,398 pro rata

Bridgeview special school and Whitehouse PRU, members of Venn Academy Trust are seeking to recruit a teaching assistant to work with teachers and the Senior Leadership team to improve the literacy and maths skills of pupils who are on Pupil Premium and/or Looked After.  The settings are located in different wings on the same site, catering for primary aged children with a wide range of social, emotional and behavioural issues. 

We are looking for a creative, engaging person with experience in supporting pupils to develop these skills and the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues. 

The successful candidate would be qualified to Level 3 NVQ for Teaching Assistants/CACHE 3 or equivalent and be expected to transport themselves efficiently to undertake home visits.

We will provide extensive training, including behaviour management and advanced restrictive physical intervention techniques (Team Teach).

Venn Academy Trust are seeking an exceptional candidate to appoint to a new role in the organisation as our Clerk/PA.  Reporting to the Chair of the Trust Board and Chief Executive Officer the successful candidate will be forward thinking, and preferably have previous Clerking and PA experience. You will be suitably qualified, highly motivated, positive, emotionally intelligent and enthusiastic about contributing to this growing organisation.

Key responsibilities will be:

  • To provide a professional and efficient Clerking/PA service.
  • Diary management and PA Support to the CEO of the Trust
  • Administration and project support to the leadership team as required
  • To support and advise the Trust Board and governing bodies on governance, legislation and areas of compliance
  • Produce, collate and distribute the agenda and papers, minutes of previous meetings for leadership and Trustees/Governors

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Head of School to join our supportive leadership team at Bridgeview and Whitehouse.

Working in close partnership with the Executive Headteacher, Assistant Head of School, staff and governors, you will be based within our impressive Bridgeview and Whitehouse Centre which houses our two specialist education academies.

You will develop and manage our academies effectively, providing clear vision and positive leadership to pupils. You will ensure the highest possible outcomes for all, whilst supporting and developing relationships with parents, the local community and our neighbouring schools.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status, combined with a degree (or equivalent);
  • Minimum of five years’ teaching experience in a primary school with at least two years at senior leadership level (Deputy Head, Assistant Headteacher or equivalent);
  • Experience of successfully leading an aspect of significant school improvement;
  • Experience of leading a team.
