“The Sullivan Centre is a specialist educational setting for children whose medical needs prevent them from attending mainstream school. Our main aim is to remove the barriers to learning which these children face, by offering a range of services catering for their varied needs and circumstances.
Our purpose-built, state-of-the-art building has facilities for children who are too ill to attend mainstream school but are not in hospital. The building has been carefully designed to provide an environment which is not only safe, comfortable, and reassuring but also allows the children to have fun and enjoy learning. Our teaching practices centre on stimulating and challenging the pupils to help them learn and grow – as all children want to – despite their medical needs.
Our Home Tuition service enables children to be educated at home if they are too ill to attend either mainstream school or the Sullivan Centre. Our specialist, experienced staff work with the individual children to help them learn and develop, also providing support to parents and carers during what can be an extremely difficult period in a child’s life.”
